AROUND Hop Bottom
Yep, Hop Bottom IS a real place haha!
Originally called Foster, located at the bottom of the hill where the hops grew wild...it earned a new name!
With a population of 300, Hop Bottom is much like the fictional "Mayberry". Everyone is your neighbor and
everywhere you go in town you will find a friend.
You can still find community members visiting on Main Street, at the Post Office, mercantile, antique shop
or over at the Bank or to the feed mill.
The farm is located in a unique spot (not by mistake thanks to the Bennetts) We are high atop the ridge on a dirt road that overlooks the Endless Mountain chain. Go three miles down hill in any direction and you are back on a "main road".
Central to Scranton or to Binghamton by a quick jaunt on 81. Or take a meander on route 11 for a more scenic and relaxed journey to Scranton or Binghamton as it was the original north - south "highway".
For a road trip adventure, hop on the route 92 scenic byway to Susquehanna Depot and ultimately to the New York border or go west young man towards Tunkhannock where you can link up to the historic Route 6 highway.
